About me

My purpose in life is to be in service.

My name is Isabella Chávez, I was born in November and I'm a scorpio.

I love animals, food and tend to overshare.

So here it goes.

My purpose in life is to share with you the various tools, disciplines, and practices I've learned, to remind you that the medicine we seek is already within us.

I was born among the mountains, in Quito, Ecuador.

I study, practice, and share the science of Hatha Raja Yoga under the lineage of my master, Andrei Ram.

Since 2020, I have been facilitating spaces related to conscious menstruation, which are open to women and the LGBTQ+ community.

I have worked for a long time in the field of sexual and reproductive rights, participating in community projects with Indigenous communities. My intention has been to use these topics as a starting point for changing beliefs, internalized patterns, and structures that limit body autonomy and the lives of rural women.

For several years, I have conducted research to approach sexual and reproductive rights, pleasure, and decision-making autonomy from perspectives that have historically been unrecognized.

This work is grounded in the bodies, knowledge, practices, and identities that come from the margins.

I firmly believe in integral, autonomous, and self-managed approaches to health, which is why I am currently studying Natural Gynecology, trusting in plants as companions in the processes of those with vulvas, ovaries, and uteruses.

I also facilitate Ovarian Breathing Feminine Alchemy and Shakti’s Prayer or crystal work, two practices that honor the relationship with the sacred feminine, understood as a creative force.

In 2024, I studied Sound Healing and now facilitate sound baths, group sound therapy, and 1:1 therapies.

My Story

When I was 14 years old, I made the most important decision of my life: to stop consuming products derived from animal exploitation. Without knowing it at the time, that choice would shape the course of my path, as I realized I wanted to relate to life in the most loving way possible—with myself, other animals, and the Earth.

At 16, I discovered Conscious Menstruation, and it became the doorway to my spiritual journey.

It came from an inner call to know myself more deeply. My first encounter was in a women’s circle, and within that circle, I became aware of the sacredness of my menstruation. It opened a door to the possibility of dying and being reborn every month, as well as seeing my blood and cycles as symbols of health.

After graduating from college, I went to see my family’s homeopathic doctor to address some imbalances. Looking into my eyes, she told me with complete certainty that "my path in life was yoga".

At that time, I had only practiced yoga a few times and hadn’t enjoyed it much, but trusting her completely, I decided to give it another try.

Around the same time, I attended a women’s gathering from the Red Path, which sparked my curiosity about this spiritual path that honors Indigenous ancestral practices and recognizes plants as allies in transformative processes.

I found a yoga studio that I immediately connected with, along with several of the teachers there. I realized that more than just a physical or mental practice, it was a path to the spirit.

During this period of self-exploration, I also started contemporary dance, having danced since I was 11 and practiced rhythmic gymnastics since the age of five.

A few years later, I decided to study yoga, and by life’s synchronicities, I won a scholarship to study Hatha Raja Yoga. At that time, I didn’t know the difference between this lineage and other types of yoga, but it was then that I fell deeply in love with and surrendered to this medicine gifted to humanity.

During the pandemic, I started sharing some of my knowledge about Conscious Menstruation, beginning with workshops on the archetypes people with uteruses go through each month.

In 2021, I trained in Ovarian Breathing Feminine Alchemy & Shakti Prayer with my teacher, Sajeeva Hurtado, to continue learning about the arts related to the uterus while also continuing my self-study in Natural Gynecology.

In 2022 and 2023, I furthered my training with Andrei Ram after a deep emotional breakdown that brought me face-to-face with my shadow.

I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and it was during this time that I had to surrender to trust the choices I had made for my life, putting into practice the tools that had been given to me and had saved me: yoga, Conscious Menstruation, meditation, and psychotherapy.

Throughout these years, I never stopped sharing yoga. Breathing has been my anchor to life. I resumed teaching simultaneously in some studios in Quito, as I had before the pandemic. I also began giving theoretical and practical classes at @saphiraices, a space 50 minutes outside of Quito, Ecuador.

I am currently training in Natural Gynecology and am starting the journey of sharing my work with others.

I laugh at this process because it has been about facing fears and insecurities. But here I am, sharing my story with you in the hopes that if you feel called, you’ll share yours with me.

I know what it feels like to lose connection with life, and I also know what it feels like to hear that inner call—the one that invites us to wake up, take responsibility, and live with contentment and fullness.

I am here to support your journey and remind you of your capacity to heal yourself.
